South America - Bolivia May 2012

After a great 3 days on our 4wd trip and 1 night in Uyuni we decided to head to the city of Potisi for a couple of nights to relax.
Potisi
Then we headed off to the capital of Bolivia, Sucre.  Really nice city with a great Plaza De Armas.
Plaza De Armas
Great artwork from the local children.....
We decided to do half a day horse riding while here.  Ha Ha how funny, Steve has never been on a horse before and it's been a very very long time since Andrea sat on a horse....Our guide didn't speak a word of English so there were lots of hand signals and sign language going on......

After lunch, our guide had us galloping back along the dirt track and road, think he was in a rush to get back he he!!!!

On our penultimate day we went to a traditional market, 2hours drive away from Sucre, village of Torabuku, here we went a little crazy buying traditional Bolivian pressies....

Then then on our final day we went to the Dinosaur Park, the largest archaeological site for Dinosaur footprints in the world.

Now time to head for the city of La Paz to face "The Road of Death", the most dangerous road in the world.....Booked with Barro Biking Tour Operator, a full day out downhill mountain biking, meals included and at the end of it, if you make it, there is a buffet lunch and pool to relax round, yipee!!!!
Ready to go....

We made it......
After surviving "The Road of Death" we took another night bus to Copacabana & Lake Titicaca.  Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America and the highest lake in the world at around 4000m above sea level.  There are 42 Islands in the lake, 2 of the most popular being the Isle de Sol and Isle de Luna.
