Thailand Sep 2011

So far we have travelled through the North of Thailand, leaving Bangkok after only 2days there with that being our 1st port of call after flying from the UK.  A bit hectic at 1st was nice to be moving on.  1hour and 20min on the train we arrived in Ayuthaya, had a few days around there looking round finding our feet with our travelling experience, visiting temples, river boat rides, lots of rain and water (this was before the floods really began).

Ko San Road, Bangkok

Took a VIP night bus to Chiang Mai.  Went on a 2 day 1 night trek with an elephant ride and bamboo rafting.  Stayed overnight in the rain  forest at the elephant camp.  Guides were great,  they helped Andrea out a lot with her backpack and stopping her falling over after 5times of falling down.  Very wet and tough going on the trek, but all good what a great experience.....

We then headed up to the Thai/Laos border.  Traveling through Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong.  Taking a local bus which was fun and bumpy!!!  Went to see the Hilltribes and Tea Plantations around the area, spectacular views.......
